To find answers like this and many more, the Assumption of the Holy Orthodox
Church here in Clifton is having a bible study on the true meaning of
 Easter.

His Grace, Bishop Michael of the Orthodox Church will lead the bible
study on the subject of Easter that is being held on Feb. 23rd at 7:00 p.m.  We
hope that you will all make an effort to join us for this discussion on

Welcome to Our Parish!

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Glory Forever!

Welcome to the web site of the Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, a pan-Orthodox community that serves Passaic county of NJ. Our church is a parish of the Diocese of Washington and New York of the Orthodox Church in America. On this site you can find information about our parish, it's services and events. Click on the appropriate link on the left to go to a page with information that you are interested in.

The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It is not non-denominational, but pre-denominational. It has been believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for.  It is the faith that has established the universe...

METROPOLITAN JONAH VISITS OUR PARISH!

2009 LENTEN MISSION - 03/09/09

On Sunday, March 29, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah visited our parish for the Lenten Mission Vespers of the New Jersey Deanery.  Over 300 people from throughout the area came for an afternoon of Christian prayer and fellowship.
We extend our sincerest thanks to the clergy and faithful from throughout the area, as well as St. Tikhon's Seminary Choir for singing the responses.
We especially thank the faithful of our parish who worked diligently in preparation for this day as it was truly rewarding for everyone.  May our Lord bless each of you richly for it, granting you all MANY BLESSED  YEARS!

5th Annual Church School Picnic

5th Annual Church School Picnic - 09/26/10

Our 2010 Church School year began with a picnic at the parish rectory grounds.  After the celebration of the Divine Liturgy with special petitions and prayers for the students and teachers of our Church School Program, over 100 people participated in a wonderful afternoon of Christian fellowship and fun!
We extend our sincerest thanks to everyone for their dedication and hard work in making this a truly memorable day!
We also thank His Grace, Bishop MICHAEL for taking time out of his busy schedule to share this day with us!
